Mustamäe is Tallinn's largest sleeping district, built in the 1960s-1970s. The area is known for its regular planning, greenery, and good infrastructure. Tallinn University of Technology and several research institutions are located here, creating an academic atmosphere.
Historia ja luonne
Mustamäe was the Soviet Union's first standardized apartment district in Estonia. Construction began in 1962 and lasted over ten years. The name comes from the historical place 'Mustamäe', referring to a dark forested hill. The district was designed as a model socialist residential area.
