Kristiine is a peaceful and green residential district in western Tallinn. The area is known for its parks, private houses, and good connections. Several large shopping centers and office buildings are located here, but the charm of a quiet living environment has been preserved.

Kristiine district got its name in the 17th century when the area belonged to Swedish Queen Christina. The area developed mainly in the 20th century when private houses and smaller apartment buildings were constructed here. During the Soviet era, larger apartment buildings and industrial facilities were added.
