Historia ja luonne
The Põlva area has been inhabited for thousands of years. The region historically belonged to the Bishopric of Tartu. Põlva Church is one of the oldest in Estonia, built in the 13th century. Southeastern Estonia has been an important cradle of Estonian culture and the national movement, home to many notable cultural figures.
