Historia ja luonne
Järvamaa was one of Estonia's eight ancient counties. The ruins of the Paide Order Castle recall the Livonian Order conquest of the 13th century. The area has been an important agricultural region for centuries, where manorial lords built numerous estates, many of which survive to this day.
