The building housed Aleksander Jürvetson's printing house "Meie Kodumaa", where on February 23, 1918, the founding act of statehood "Manifesto to the Peoples of Estonia" was printed, which was read aloud that same evening from the balcony of the "Endla" theatre by lawyer Hugo Kuusner. After the war, a third floor made of silicate bricks was added to the building and the proportions of the window openings were changed.
